Ellendale Environmental are very pleased to welcome BlairMcNicol to the team!

Blair has been working alongside Ellendale Environmental over a period of a few months, assisting us on ECoW projects and ecology surveys, and has undertaken recent CIEEM training on pine marten and wildcat survey techniques.  Blair joins Ellendale as a Graduate Ecologist and will be primarily working in South Wales to support the team, providing on-site ecological advice and support for an overhead line project.

After studying Zoology and Bioscience at the University of The West of Scotland, Blair was successful at gaining an intern position within Marine Conservation undertaking research and working on various conservation plans and projects. This involved various processes and mechanisms such as collecting and testing water samples, completing surveys, scientific writing, analysis, and the construction and maintenance of coral nurseries for ongoing reintroduction programs.

Most recently, Blair has been working on a number of Scottish Power Energy Networks substations, from 127kV up to 400kV, and has experience of working on construction sites.  With this, Blair gained the necessary certification for operating equipment and working as an approved contractor.

Blair is also an affiliate member of the Royal Society of Biology and has undertaken training and certification for working at height, sea survival, first aid, manual handling and fire awareness.
